Aching legs from Small Fiber Neuropathy

Posted by Rachel, Volunteer Mentor @rwinney, Oct 23, 2019

One of my relentless symptoms from neuropathy is profusely aching legs. Does anyone share this symptom with me? At times I wonder if it could be another issue. They hurt so bad and create pain when walking continuously. Both legs feel heavy, tired and can't get much mileage. When I walk it's as though they are full of lead and they make me go at a turtles pace. If I stop and don't move they may settle a bit but then same old situation as I walk again. Only relief is being elevated and wrapped with heat or soaking in warm water. That buys me maybe a half hour or an hour tops. Same goes for any topicals. A tight wrap feels good almost like a weighted blanket does. Something about tightening the muscles does too.
I appreciate comments or feed back you may have to share on this.
Thanks all,
Rachel

Hey Linda
Yes ma'am, got in shower but was painful on body. Some days are just a bear and I know I will survive them because I'm stronger than your average bear! Girl, I live with heat packs. They are a huge help to me most days and I recommend heat to many. Thank you my friend for caring. Have a wonderful day.

@rwinney Hi Rachel, Your pain description is brutal, and yet I get it. Felt like my toes and balls of feet were in a vice today. Stopped the Low Dose Naltrexone for a few days, because I did not think it was helping. I guess it was, because I was in utter agony until I took Kratom. Brought pain down from a 10 to a 6 or so. Considering Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation. Just cannot deal with this anymore. Got medical marijuana card, and I am using it more than I like to. Rachel, Rachel, Rachel......this is not fair. From where do we gather strength? How often do you just cry? Tears trickling down my eyes today, as I chugged Kratom. Unbelievable. Had lumpectomy, and wound up with this mess. I am so sorry I am so low. Gotta put the spirit of God inside me. Find the joy...somehow.... Lori Renee

Hello and so good to hear from you. Been thinking about you as I have not seen you post in a while. Sorry about the LDN. As @artscaping so gently reminds me (and she is absolutely correct), there are no take it all away answers. Once I began to understand that reality, acceptance came my way...sort of. I can not tell a lie...I have my days, and yesterday was one of them! My poor husband. It does break my heart (and I'll get mad about it for you) that once people survive cancer, surgeries, etc...this misery awaits them. Indeed - not fair. But if we sit around playing woe is me, life continues on without us. Damn it All! Such a catch 22. I wish you peace and clarity today. Be well.

@lioness Hi Linda, Yes, this pain utterly sucks. No description. Coincidentally, I filled my foot spa with Epsom salt today, and soaked. Relieving. Very relieving. Now that my Kratom is wearing out, I will do a few puffs of marijuana, and the day will go by. Thanks for prayers, and they are returned back to you. God Bless, Lori Miller
