Diabates prophylaxis while on Prednisolone

Hey everyone. Those on prednisolone long term do you take oral insulin medicine to prevent getteing diabetes?

@webiondev When I was first post-transplant and my dosage of prednisone was higher I had to do insulin shots. As the prednisone was reduced I no longer needed them. I am now on a small dosage of prednisone and have no problems, no medications for my diabetes.

I too was on Prednisone for 6 months after transplant but they set my cutoff to 170 and i tested everyday but did not have to do insulin. I think it just depends on the person. They actually still list me as pre diabetic but i don't have to test anymore since it stays in the 80-110 range.
