Supplement combination/effectiveness

Posted by wisfloj @wisfloj, Sep 27, 2019

Ergomax brand PEA was working so well after 9 weeks of 1200 mg. Per day, thought I was 'cured'. Pain and burning was rare and brief! Then...it comes back. Who would one go to in order to find out if supplements are cancelling each other, overkill in combination taken etc.? I take alpha lipoic acid in the R-ala form, acetyl L carnitine, turmeric and B12. Continuing with PEA since I stocked up! Medical doctors? doubt it, health food stores? Probably sell you more stuff! How do you find a chemist or biologist perhaps? Thanks for any advice.

Are you using the Protocol recommended on this facebook page? "Solutions to Peripheral Neuropathy Pain & Discomfort"
I am reviewing their protocol but have not yet started?

@terrydclaar, I've been taking the groups protocol of supplements since Sept 2016. I posted my story and how it's helped me in an earlier post on Connect here: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/anyone-here-dealing-with-peripheral-neuropathy/?pg=42#comment-65985

@rwinney...I was able to attach the photo for the ingredients in the Vitalize 400 mg Pure Pea box and a picture of the capsules themselves. LMK if you want additional photos. Pam

Thanks John. I will follow up with what you wrote about the Protocol. I have mostly pins and needles, pain, and spasms in my feet that keep from sleeping unless I take gabapentin, which I am trying to get off. Have you connected with people with similar symptoms to mine, who have been helped with the Protocol regimen? Thanks, Terry

Hi Terry @terrydclaar, There are a lot of folks in the group with symptoms similar to yours and have been helped by the protocol and been able to taper off of the drugs. When you are in the group you can go to the top of the page and search the group for your symptoms to find others that have been helped. The easiest way to find members and read how it's helped them is to go to the top and search using #theprotocolworks and it will bring up each of the posts by members who have been helped. If you have already joined I think they are having a Facebook live at 9PM EDT where you can ask questions.

Thanks I found it! When we hit reply to someone’s post it 'seems' like it will show up there but it goes to 'most recent' position, so it’s more confusing I think. can I ask about dosing, brands, formulas or any specifics he may have provided? I do still take ALCAR and R-ala, plus B12 as it was low in bloodwork. Thank you Rachel.

To be honest, when he prescribed the supplements, insurance denied bc they're over the counter. I didnt even care what brands he recommended. I made an executive decision of researching brands online for rating and quality. Also, I utilized the brand's from the Protocol John has spoke of thru Facebook.
