Yes they can. It’s called Post Ictal Paresis or Todd’s paralysis.
It can effect legs, arms, hands, one or both or the entire body and may just cause weakness. It can also affect your vision and speech. Usually it happens only on one side. I’ve never heard of it lasting two days, usually a matter of hours.
Did this happen to you? What type Seizures do you have?
Hope you get control of those suckers, they sure can be a pain.
Health and happiness,
Jake

I'm really not sure, but they did say it was some type of partial seizures. I'm on a medicine called Aptiom and it stop me from having the grand mal. I'm still having some seizure of the brain even when I don't know it. One thing I do know is I have seizure activity when I sleep because when I wake up sometimes I feel severely tired and weak. On this particular morning I was so weak and when I sat down I couldn't move my legs and arms. It lasted for about 10 to 15 minutes and then that went away but I was still drain and tired all day and some of the next day. It's a scary situation!!

Hi there,
I have never heard of the paralysis manifesting itself that way, not to say it can’t. If this is a new symptom you should notify your doctor. From what I know of it, it happens during the post ictal phase and from people I’ve known with it they were paralyzed upon waking up. Perhaps you weren’t over the post ictal phase but were over it enough to walk. Did you have any of the following symptoms, confused, headache, nausea, fatigue, memory loss at the time you sat down?
You mentioned Partials so I suspect your having Focal Seizures, either Focal Aware or Focal Impaired. Previously known as Simple or Complex partials. Have you ever bit your tongue or cheeks? Do you walk off during your seizures?

That's why I'm trying to get to the clinic because I have questions that need answers. I have other medical issues as well, but I guess I will discuss those with them when I get there.

Hi,
I’m glad to hear your seeking medical care. Who knows, your seizures may be caused by one of your other conditions.
Hopefully they will be controlled soon.
Wishing you luck,
Jake
