How do you deal with dry eyes?

I have dry eyes due to sjogren's syndrome. Does anyone else deal with dry eyes?

Yes. My last visit with ophthalmologist, he said I have “potholes” where my corneas aren’t getting any moisture. I have tried plugs in tear ducts, Restasis and using moisturizing drops several times a day. He switched me to Xiidra. I’ve been using for about a month now and my eyes do feel better. I’m anxious what doctor will see when I have follow up appointment. Side effects are a bad taste in mouth and eyes tear a lot for an hour or so after I use them. Those things Incan live with if it’s going to save the damage to my eyes.

Hi well, my husband 66 yrs old, healthy in shape, never had an eye problem, but unfortunatly, he is a sun person. the doctor has put him on Lotemax, 2x day since his cataract sx on june 30th. NOthing has helped his sunlight sensitivity, hes already tried other steroids drops. Doc doesnt seem to answer any questions, just keeps trying new drops. really frustrated. My husband cannot enjoy his life, cant go outside ,even drive in the day time, too much glare, We are seeking second opinion, almost 2 months since sx, and 9 weeks having this severe sensitivity. I have been reading everything! no real answers i have come up with. IM getting scared for him, doc says his eye is totally healthy, no cornea problems, glaucoma, injury, abrasion, nothing !!!!!!

Yes, Bruder seems a bit pricey, but seems to work. Also, when I gently washed it as directed, somehow the properties seemed to change a little, so I always test the heat carefully before applying. Dr. also suggested "OCuSOFT Lid Scrub plus Platinum" eyelid cleanser. But I believe it is because he said I had some blepheritis (which was a surprise to me). However, whenever I used it, it stung my eyes, so I discontinued it. (BTW, is it OK to use brand names? or should we not do so?).

Burns so very bad I had to stop using it. Perhaps my eyes are so terribly dry. Tried it again six months later and the same results. Peach

Keep trying different eye drops as dry eyes can lead to eye issues. You want the ones without red-out or preservatives, or the RX Pataday from ophthalmologist. I use PM ointment at night, with eye mask.

Dry eyes are more common than any one knows. Using xiidra drops as well systane during the day they have helped, was very frustrating to wake up with eyes glued shut
Reached out to my dr who wanted me to dry these xiidra

Depends I think on the cause. I have severe dry eye due to autoimmune issues and that is not very common.

@peach414144 I had the burning and constant irritation from Restasis. I guess we just have to keep trying until we find (hopefully) the remedy that we can live with.

I am doing serum eye drops, that seems to help most for me...I am also doing five other things, but the best is the serum eye drops...
