Mingeoencephalitis

Just wondering does any one on here know anything about meningoencephalitis. I was hospitalised fo 54 days with it.

Hello @clodaghpower, welcome to Connect. I am not familiar with meningoencephalitis but did find a good article describing the condition in ScienceDirect.

How are you doing since being released from the hospital? Do your doctors have any ongoing or follow up treatments for you?

Little is know of the condition here in Ireland. Myself n another person I think. It was only discovered in America in 2016 . I've had lumbar puncture s . An MRI scan n a Pet scan . On lots of medication steroids da r decreasing every month . They want to do another MRI scan soon . Lost the use of my legs . Back walking again . N attending physio. Symptoms started off as flu then vomiting. Attended ER 3 times to be sent home . Was told it was different things . On the fourth time I was kept . Was halucianting cant remember much . Was ventilated and in intensive care .

@clodaghpower I want to welcome you as John has What menegioencepholitis is The inflammation of the menegies that surround the brain Encephalitis is bad enough I'm sorry to hear of all your going through The only thing I can say is glad your with Dr. One thing I take for inflammation is Ginger-Tumeric tea they are both anti inflamatory I don't know if you have Trader-Joes there but that's where I get it if not steep your tea after putting the spices in honey for sweetness I drink mine plain Blessings to you

No Trader Joe's here in Ireland. But I'll try find out about the ginger turmeric tea .
