Episodes going on and I don't know what to do.

This is all going to sound weird but its bothering me. In January I started having issues of having the chills or my hands/arms shaking out of control. This didn't happen every nite actually seldom but now they are getting more frequent . Its usually when I have been sleeping. These episodes don't last long but I can't stop them. Last nite I was watching TV and my one arm started shaking and then the other arm did and it lasted awhile and I was thinking how do I stop this , it finally quit. One episode was my heart was beating so fast and so hard and I was breathing in very deeply. Didn't last long and it quit. Today now I have a headache and earlier I would just fall asleep, start dreaming and waking up when I was talking aloud to someone in my dream. Those dreams are so real. Been thinking I should make a appointment with a neurologist but don't know if I should do it now or if I can wait until I go back to mayo for a ct scan for lung cancer in late June. Any ideas...… or am I just weird. My blood work is good, except my thyroid was a little off , first time , always good before.

@sakota I would call my primary care physician today and try to get in this week. Tell them about all your symptoms so they know you need to get in asap. Don't downplay your symptoms. Just tell them what's happening. Let us know how you're doing.

Thanks lyn. The problem is she doesn’t know what to do. Told her about it in January and again this month. These things have been going on since January. But getting more frequent.

Hi dear sakota9 (Joan) @sakota.
I believe your words (those dreams are so real), create your first undesired decision. (Been thinking I should make a appointment with a neurologist) also creates your second decision, now regarding my words (as I am guessing not sure) so you do not have to believe my thinking or my words as I am not a professional. My humble advice that might work or may not is taking appointment with the primary doctor for ( except my thyroid was a little off ) and a counselor for (always good before). Some troubles in the period of pre- present good days suddenly affect our lives when the age become shortage in creating new ideas and new relationships. But not giving up is what I believe in.
Hope you find answers and wish you a great life

@sakota I think you've waited long enough. Call your neurologist and tell your symptoms and get schedule asap. Better safe than sorry.

various things I have thought about...why are you waiting so long to have a ct scan for lung cancer? Lung cancer can be dangerous. Now the other things...with the heart involvement, I think you should see a cardiologist. Afib came to mind, with that fast heart beat, and needing to sleep after. The involuntary hand/arm shaking did make me think neuro doc. I would see both of these docs, and personally, I would not wait. If you have not seen your primary care physician, you might start there first! Lori Renee

@sakota, since you are talking about episodes with shaking hands and arms, as well as your heart beating too fast, I want to bring in a couple additional members who may have some input, @hopeful33250 and @predictable.

Dear @sakota, I will have more insights for you a week from today, after my wife's cardiologist returns from vacation and we have a comprehensive discussion about her heart arrhythmia. I'm telling friends I feel like an intern for a medical degree and a caretaker intern at the same time. The shaking of your arms and hands is reminiscent of my brother's Parkinson's Disease or my own neurological reaction to my Atrial Fibrillation and its side-effects. Your chills and racing heartbeats, mixed with sleep incidents, are components of my wife's current symptoms under a preliminary diagnosis of tachycardia caused by electrical problems in the heart, just above the ventricles (supraventricular tachycardia - SVT). She is just two weeks into a very complex diagnostic process involving her heart, thyroid, adrenal glands, and diabetes 2. Fortunately, her personal care physician is an Internist whose job is to figure out whether she needs specialists to home-in on the causes of her symptoms and to clear the way for her appointment(s) with each of the specialists. Does your PCP perform this crucial function for you and, in effect, knock down the door to the specialists you need? Could Medicare or your health insurance help you chart a path to finding out what you need to know? Would you be interested in talking with Mayo Clinic intake and funding personnel to see how you could access their renowned patient care system in search of a diagnosis and therapy?

Hi lorie. I am not waiting long for a ct scan.... I have been having one every 3 or 6 months since 2011 and have had 2 surgeries and 2 rounds of radiation. I just saw a cardiologist last month for a checkup at mayo. Everything was good. I think I am covering all the bases. My gp is setting up an appt with a neurologist here and if it shows something serious I am heading back to mayo. Thanks for your help and caring.

Hi Mr. Jensen. I think I am getting all the bases covered...…….I just wish I knew what was causing it so I would know if its something that I will have to deal with or something that is minor. Seems like everytime I turn around something is wrong and I go to the specialists and get checked out. Deal with whatever I have to deal with and move on. My gp is scheduling an appt with a neurologist here but I can tell you for certain if its something serious I will be heading back to mayo...….. Been going there since 2011. Thanks for all the advice . Its all appreciated.
