Recipes, Food Tips, Healthy Eating & More

Posted by Debbra Williams, Alumna Mentor @debbraw, Feb 22, 2019

Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.

Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.

Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!

I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

The Gruyere cheese is an important ingredient. Don't substitute a different cheese.

I had a Focal Impaired seizure and nearly walked into the Grand Canyon.
I have a recipe for French onion soup and an optional ingredient is Brandy. I've never tasted it so am clueless. What do you think?

If I were you, I wouldn't go near the Grand Canyon or any other big holes in the earth, @jakedduck1.

Some people I know who regularly have Focal Impaired seizures said I wouldn’t have walked off the edge but I wouldn’t want to put it to the test. I was probably acting weird, yeah yeah I know, I meant more so than usual. “Wondering” is common during Focals.

Knowing nothing about seizures in general, are you aware you are having a focal seizure when it happens...or only afterwards? Bet you never had one looking for candy lol.

Actually, not replying. Would not know exactly what to reply to - so many different subjects and sub-subjects going on all the time. All I wanted to add under the potential title “good stuff way cheap” is: I love spicy sour cream dips, but hate to pay $3.00 for a “Helluva good dip”at stores. Now I get a $.95 no-name, great tasting, french onion dip at either Lidl or Aldi, add 2 to 4 tbsp. sriracha sauce, stir well, and get the same result. No idea where you would file this post. Under cheapskates? Money savers?
BUT: this cheapskate does agree that french onion soup does need Gruyere cheese toasts. There, I’m not cheap.

Good morning, all! I am not a paid spokesperson, nor an employee of Amazon or Michael Symons. Just someone who also suffers with inflammatory issues. I just watched a segment on Good Morning America, where Michael Symons [chef and author] is touting his new cookbook that may help with cooking while dealing with inflammatory concerns.

I placed on on pre-order in my cart. What do you think?
