Is Adderall causing harm? Should I switch or lessen it?

Posted by ezra @ezra, Dec 14, 2016

I take 100 mg of Adderall XR every day. As of late, I read a remark by Gayl Hamilton, MD. On May 19, 2014, Gayle asserted that Adderall led to a decline in her athletic ability and changed her dopamine levels. She likewise proposes that Adderall brought on mitochondrial harm. Her remarks were posted on Healthrising.org.

Johnson, C. (2014, May). Empowering vitality: upgrading the mitochondria in the cooperative energy clinical trial for interminable exhaustion disorder. Recovered from http://www.healthrising.org/blog/2014/05/19/fortifying vitality mitochondrial-upgrade cooperative energy clinical-trial-perpetual weakness disorder/.

Is this valid? Would it be advisable for me to switch, lessen or compliment the Adderall with another drug? Are there eating methodologies or supplements that one ought to use when taking Adderall XR?

I have Add, and have been taking Adderal XR fairly consistantly for 16 years ...I just lost my Medicaid, though so I had to switch to the short-term dose. The XR was 60 mg , now it's 80 mg q4 hrs. When my young son was growing up he took it, too. He had the problem of not being hungry, thus didn't want to eat. He did lose weight, we took him off meds for the summer, and put him on Ritalin instead. He gained back his weight, but said Ritalin wasn't as effective for his

acute ADHD symptoms. He was taking 110 md qd...now he takes 30.He did well in school, he graduated (whew!!!) and takes it at work, only.
. I take it , and don't have any noticeable side effects. I wish it made me lose weight, but it doesn't... I feel happy and really alert, it's a life saver. My Add is the lethargic type, daydreamy, can seem to finish anything without adderal....It helps my focus, so I don't have CAR ACCIDENTS anymore, too.

I took 25 mg of Adderall XR, two in the morning and two in the afternoon. Now, I take two 30 mg capsules in the morning and two 20 mg capsules in the afternoon.

I take vyvanse 70 mg in AM for brain fog of fibromyalgia and fatigue. It helps on both clarity for me as well as a bit of energy. At night I use medical marijuana which makes me munch out. So weight loss is negligible. I do think it helps although my body has gotten use to it and not as effective as initially. I take a lot of other drugs and haven't seen any reactions. I wish you good health!
