CBD oil for pain

Posted by timfitz @timfitz, Jul 19, 2016

After trying opiates, and lyrica, and mostly just suffering I tried sublingual CBD which is from the marijuana plant, but has no THC in it, you don't get high. It was very very effective. Not only did it reduce my pain at least 75%, it has a calming effect on the anxiety produced in those of us with chronic pain by the fact we have it. I do recommend it.... Be sure it is from a reliable source. You don't need to smoke anything or get high.

@gingerw

@hazelnut I just placed an order with CBD Distillery. When I first start using CBD oil I bought from a local store front and felt that I was getting a good deal. It wasn't, but it was convenient. That was before educating myself on what was available different places. Then I moved and bought some face-to-face from a company and really like the results of their product. This is my first order was CBD Distillery. I am still looking for just the right product for me. I know that CBD oil has made a big difference in my level of comfort and relief from pain and anxiety.

The CBD oil is terrific....my rheumatologist prescribed voltaren cream and said I could spray the CBD oil over the cream. I am also approved for medical cannabis but for me anything with the THC makes me feel very anxious and the CBD oil over the counter is a blessing and helps with most of the pain from osteoarthritis of the hip and fibromyalgia. I had open heart surgery fifteen months ago and it would help a lot if I could exercise and be more active. The rain really effects the pain and here in the Chicago area we have had more than our share of the droplets ! I have given the CBD oil to several friends to try and they all have found relief, even one of my friends that has bone on bone with both of her knees! Wishing all of you less pain.

1. How much CBD oil can I take . I now take 1 ml. of Liquid syringe under my tongue. Very little effect for my chronic daily headaches and back aches .
2. Yesterday I saw a new pain specialist about my new chronic pain in my coccyx. I was hoping to have an cortisone/lidocaine injection directly into my coccyx but she wasn’t able to do it but referred me to a clinic that does. She did prescribe a topical compound to be mixed for me personally from a specialty pharmacy. They are supposed to call me to arrange payment and shipping. Will that be something like ‘Voltaren cream’?
3. Can I use CBD oil I take internally directly on my coccyx externally ?

my experience with CBD oil on back pain is that it really doesn't help if you have stenosis (L3-L4-L5) like i have. I used to take 2 drops under the tongue and hold it there for 60 -90 seconds and then spit it out. I then did hot water rinses in my mouth and spit, followed by honeys under the tongue for 60 seconds and then spit . i did these rinses twice, because my stomach will be disturbed by the oil in it. The CBd oil did help with all my other joints somewhat. I also have temple and forehead headaches because of trigeminal neuralgia. CBD oil does nothing for that. My nephew uses medical marijuana for his failed lower back operation, which contains some THC and it does really alleviate his pain. I have had cortisone shots in my lower back which had helped previously. i need to get another set of these. Usually three shots (1 every 3 weeks) will help tremendously. When your pain specialist injects have him/her inject very slowly and ask you as he is doing this how are you feeling. If injected too fast, you run the risk of tremendous back pressure for a short period of time as well as the possibility of an epidural induced headache which will last for a whole day. The injection should be done with a flouroscope so the surgeon can see where it goes into the joint, otherwise he/she may hit the epidural fluid and thus the horrible headache. I was told by a chiropracter that if you rub the CBD oil around the areas of the headache (keep away from the eyes) it should help the head pain. Have you had an MRI of your neck? My neck MRI indicates so much arthritis and disc misalignment that it can't be operated on. good luck and best wishes.......kozlo52

@lioness @karen00 I have nothing to add to what Linda had to say, but I do hope you contact your local welfare office or whomever is helpful in situations like yours. You do need a place to live, not in a car. I am rather late in getting back to you, so I hope by now your situation is resolved.

Sorry for the late reply.
I do not know the amount you can take. Are you taking medical cannabis or the over the counter kind? If you are taking the medical cannabis the people that dispense the item can advise you best, there are hundreds of cannabis items.
Volttaren creme is a common cream for pain and a prescription is needed. My rheumatologist said I can spray the CBD oil over the voltaren cream. I use the medical cannabis at night, taking half a dropper for pain and to sleep, sometimes it is not enough and I wake and take a little more.I very seldom use the medical cannabis during the day as I seem to have problems with the THC in any amount. I go through many bottles of the spray over the counter CBD Daily oil though. The weather plays a big factor with the amount of pain.I've had steroid injections and I don't think I will have anymore.There's a new procedure that freezes or burns the nerves to stop the pain but I have heard that that procedure should really be considered since the nerves could be permanently damaged. I hope you get some relief soon.

I use the CBD oil from Hemp. A reliable company is Hempworx. Start with limited drops ...about three twice a day. Gradually work your way up. After a few months, I am now taking 10 drops twice a day and will increase again fairly soon. I can share more, if you wish.

I, too, have spinal stenosis and used to have injections. Now I Just do my stretches at least every other day. I have had too many injections because I have also lost the tendons for both shoulders' rotator cuffs. No shoulders, after three surgeries. I will be having reverse shoulder replacement surgery mid-July.

I use a spray CBD oil purchased over the counter for pain from arthritis. It's wonderful but if one has AFIB or have had open heart surgery can one take oral CBD or will it effect the blood thinner ? I have had different responses by just googling the info and I am hoping a member from Mayo chat has a answer. The rheumatologist recommended the medical cannabis and my cardiologist said he is not familiar with cannabis and if the rheumatologist knowing all my meds recommended it he did not see a problem using it. I do take the medical tincture cannabis at night and it works wonderful....ends the pain and allows me to get at least 5 hours sleep.I do want to take the CBD oral during the day for the pain and anxiety but would like info from Mayo Chat group. Thank you !
Basically...does CBD effect Xarelto and make my blood even thinner ?
