Welcome @cathydy. I changed the title of your thread for you. Usually treatment options for recurring CNS lymphoma are dependent on the treatment you've had in the past. In other words, if chemo was used in the past, then radiation may be the choice now. http://www.cancer.gov/types/lymphoma/patient/primary-cns-lymphoma-treatment-pdq#link/_88_toc

Besides surgery, did you have radiation or chemo in 2015?

THANK YOU. Chemo was given, methotrexate 2 times before body could not tolerate more. Went into kidney failure and other organ problems. All ok, except now in stage 2 kidney disease. Second Opinion recommended we do nothing re: brain and see what happened. All brain scans have been negative since Dec 2015 including one on 4/20/16. Problems with memory, balance, reading, vision prompted moving MRI forward to 6-15-16 with results of multiple tumors

Thanks for telling us a bit more about you. At the moment, I haven't found another member with CNS lymphoma, but I'm tagging a few members who also have experience with brain tumors. Please meet @robinjenkins70 @dmedina71 @lindalongberry @dailychronicsupportgroup @parker80138. I also want to tag @irvkay312 who, like you, has kidney disease caused by chemo treatment.
It helps to know you're not alone.

Was the recommendation to watch and wait before yesterday's MRI? Have radiation and chemo been suggested since the MRI or continued watch and waiting?

It is my husband with CNS Lymphoma. The recommendation to watch and wait was made Nov 2015 after chemo almost killed him. MRI done yesterday, today got recommendation for chemo or radiation. Supposed to make an informed decision by tomorrow.

In 2009 I had 28 radiation treatments to the Islet Cell of the Pancreas. That was followed by 2 cycles of Adriamyacin and Streptozocin; (I lost most hair) and was also told that these forms of chemo could affect my heart and kidneys at a later age. That chemo was followed by 12 cycles of Sutent (a targeted chemotherapy) after which "my kidneys went into Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 3. We followed the previous with 3 cycles of Affinitor (another targeted chemo). Now, 7 years later, my system will not utilize protein, but deplete it instead. I am also in the process of losing weight due to that fact along with low glucose which is necessary for proteins to work properly in your system.

Good luck in your pursuits to deal with CKD.

Unfortunately, I don't understand too much about Lymphoma. However, if chemotherapy is considered and previous chemo was harm ful; check out 'targeted chemotherapy'--try http://www.chemocare.com--it has a lot of info on chemo and cancer.
