RISE for Youth - Rise High

Mental Health Bike Ride

  • Location: Starting from Bike Club or Peace Plaza
  • Stop#1: Farmers Market: Benefits of good nutrition and the link between physical activity and mental health.
  • Stop#2: Mayo Park: Mood disorders
  • Stop#3: The new Crisis Center: Bipolar disorders

The Mayo Clinic Center for Health Equity and Community Engagement Research, and Cuida tu Mente Coalition (Latinx mental health group), in collaboration with the local Bike Club, have organized a Bike to Mic event – an organized bike ride to various locations where participants will learn about a topic or resource in their community.

RISE for Youth - Rise Up

  • June 6 - July 1 |  9:00am - 3:00pm

The RISE for Youth program is a new strategic collaboration between Mayo Clinic and the Rochester Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) to help address some of the racial disparities and barriers to education and employment outcomes. The application process will be open from November 15th, 2021 through February 1, 2022. Click here for application details.

The RISE for Youth program will enroll a cohort model of 40 students from the local community in one of two tracks:

  • RISE HIGH will engage high school juniors and seniors in a pre-college readiness curriculum designed to enhance opportunities for post-secondary education.  (20 students)

  • RISE UP will provide employment preparation for individuals enrolled in post-secondary education programs. (20 students)
