Research Opportunity: New Potential Treatment Options for Advanced Melanoma

The TEBE-AM Study is now enrolling for HLA-A*02:01-positive adults.

The TEBE-AM Study is testing an investigational treatment option for adults with advanced melanoma alone and in combination with standard therapy to learn if it helps patients live longer with a better quality of life compared to other therapies.

This study may be an option for you if:

• You have been diagnosed with advanced melanoma.
• You have the HLA-A*02:01 gene marker.
• You have progressed on previous treatment for advanced melanoma.

What is HLA-A*02:01?

The HLA (human leukocyte antigen) system works by displaying certain markers – called peptides – on the surface of a cell. These markers tell the immune system what is happening inside the cell, for example, whether or not the cell is cancerous.

Our T cells are a key type of white blood cell that can recognize these markers through their T cell receptors (TCR). If an abnormal marker is detected, the T cell activates and attempts to kill the cell. There are many different types of HLA. The study drug, tebentafusp (IMCgp100), works with one specific HLA type called HLA-A*02:01.2 You will have your blood tested to learn whether you are HLA-A*02:01 positive.
