Defeat Diabetes Month

One in three people in the U.S. either has diabetes or is at risk for developing the disease. April is Defeat Diabetes Month, so what do you need to know about educating yourself and reducing your risk? For people affected by Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, Mayo Clinic recommends making a commitment to manage the condition by choosing healthy foods, maintaining a healthy weight and exercising regularly.

I have type 2 diabetes and really try to deal with it on a daily basis. I eat a lot of vegetables and some fruits like strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. My usual reading is around 150 is there anything I can do to improve this number. I am constantly watching my weight which is around 165 I am 5ft 1 and want to lose at least 20 more pounds. I even skip dinner a lot of nights but doesn’t seem to help.
