Down Syndrome Awareness Month

By Ali Skahan

Finding out that your child has Down Syndrome can be an incredible challenge that you may not have been planning for. It’s important to know that you and your child aren’t alone, and there are a variety of ways to cope. Consider joining a local support group to find families who know what you’re going through, build a team of trusted professionals for ongoing support, or check out Mayo Clinic Connect, where you can ask questions and share your experiences with a community that understands. Plus, continue to make people aware of your child’s abilities and accomplishments.
