Seamstress Moving and Sewing Again After Complex Spine Surgery for Scoliosis

At the young age of 12, Kimberly Kimmons was diagnosed with scoliosis. Sadly, her family didn't have the resources to have it properly addressed, which lead Kim down a road of fighting through the pain as her condition continued to worsen. Eventually Kim had to give up her active lifestyle and began struggling to sit or stand easily. As a seamstress, she began to worry when she started losing feeling in her hands. After being turned away from several doctors due to the complications of her condition, she found refuge at Mayo Clinic, where they discovered Kim was on the brink of becoming paralyzed.
