Consider physical therapy

By Ali Skahan

Physical therapy has a role in treating tons of conditions, like heart disease, fractures, head injuries, cerebral palsy, and many others. The Mayo Clinic in Minnesota has been recognized as one of the top Rehabilitation hospitals in the nation; with more than 50 specialists providing inpatient and outpatient care at all three Mayo Clinic locations.

I need so much help after numerous surgical procedures. Nothing seemed to help. I am going to schedule physical therapy again , but wonder why. It is so limited on my coverage, it is over almost before it begins.& many yrs I of terrible pain I feel lost. I am not able to take opioids due to an awful drug reaction. I am now on Cymbalta for about 2 mon. with no help. My dr. doesn’t want me to bother with an MRI, stating there isn’t any reason to do so since it wouldn’t matter with all of the arthritis

I have . He did send me for x-rays yesterday for the therapy sessions…. What to do? I am in agony. Thanks for your time.

Hi @user_ch4b61e70. Welcome to Connect!

Can I ask what parts of your body were affected by these procedures and what you get physical therapy for? I understand the pain may be everywhere, but is there an area of focus? That will help me better direct you to relevant groups.

Based on the info you provided above, I wanted to suggest a few other threads for you to check out:
Chronic Pain- https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/are-there-any-discussions-for-chronic-pain/
Cymbalta- https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/is-there-a-generic-version-of-cymbalta-60mg-yet/

You may also wish to start a new discussion. These graphic posts don’t tend to get a lot of people talking, but if you post a new thread in the Bones, Joints & Muscles or Physical Therapy & Rehab groups, we can get you connected with some other members.
