Trigeminal Neuralgia

I was diagnosed with TN in my early 20's back in the early 90's and it is only recently in my last couple of episodes that received any treatment. I was treated with tegritol and it didn't seem to help much at all. My last episode lasted nearly 3 months. I am presently experiancing the start of a new episode and am needing some advise on which direction I should go. Should I make an appt. at Mayo thru my primary Dr. and have more test run? My episodes are getting closer together now where they used to be years appart. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
