I have noticed after the anti-depressant kicks in my insomnia has been slowly increasing. I feel wide awake for some period and then becoming so tired and thought that I could sleep but then when the light is off and I just slowly back to becoming wide awake again. I usually unable to sleep around mid night, the usual hour that I can fall asleep will moving away from 3 am to later and later. No matter how I tried to tired myself out and go to bed at normal hour, it won't happen. Please help!

I had about 6 and a half hours sleep last night. I went to have a blood test too for the doctor wants to check why I'm tired. The blood test result should be ready in two days… I went to bed last night find it hard to sleep and I was aching a lot. This is the trouble I found when I have a full day of light activity, I did some gentle exercise in the morning It seems to help a bit with muscle pain when I'm sitting for a long time in front of computer (a few hours period). I'm going to do more of that today.

Glad thay you got some sleep that's a positive. I had a reasonable sleep too. Maybe rest a little more today if your body's aching until you get the blood test results Hugsx0

Acupuncture helps with aching so it helps when I can't sleep because of it. I'm trying to see how much it will have an impact on my fatigue. It may need sometime to see the result.
My hypothesis on the needles is that because it's a foreign object and it's conductive so when we have those needles into our muscle. The nerve cells are sending forth the signal to our brain and that creates the flows of the transmission between them. I could feel the pain increases and decreases, sometime the feeling of relaxation too. It's definitely have a direct impact to the nervous system in our body.
How're you today?

After a few good night sleeps I am trying to train myself to stay up full time. I did not have even a lay down and rest during the day at all. I had one long walk on Saturday, only did one hour of tutoring lesson on Sunday. Being out
and about with not much of any physical activity. So far things are ok.Last night, I have been triggered by some feedback on a discussion with my friend on his facebook status and his friend who might have felt offended by my comments.
Anyway, the way I was asking to provide a further evidence to
back up my statement was quite intimidating. I was right away went into my fear. The whole drama in my head went on and got into deepest fear I had recalled from my own abused history. I felt too much of a shame and felt that ending
my life would be the best solution for all this mess according to how my own mother would reinforced again and again that I am not a good enough person and I caused her pain. I had an emotional breakdown and was crying myself to sleep.I called my boyfriend for a support and he tried to calm me down. I tried to get some sleep and managed a 5 hours sleep. I didn't remember much once I slowly waking up this morning but slowly everything recalled and I just came back online and am sorting out the mess.
There was another person on my friend's discussion tried to smooth out the conversation and that helps. I felt a bit more settle with my interaction with others. I'm feeling ok. My friend sent me a personal message and attempted to
take my mind off the conflict. I knew he is a good friend and that was the initial reason for me to be able to interact in the discussion in the first place.I might go and see my local doctor who prescribed me the sleeping medication. He may be able to help me since I believe that it was the chronic fatigue that cause my emotional breakdown. I have never get a chance to be closer
to my GP and that's difficult. I'm starting to feel the headache and it's getting quite annoying now. I should be off line and getting on with my day now. -

Hi Iraku so sorry that youv'e had this upset. Just always remember that when we have experienced trauma in our lives that certain things will set off a trigger. Just try to keep positive and I would go and see the dr and have a good chat. I too have had many a flashback and they can be scarey I fully understand the way you feel. Try to stay calm my dear friend as your blood pressure will not come down if you don't try to relax. Always here anytime for you Hugs Piglit x0

I have been fully awake from the morning and won't have any nap during the day for 3 days now and it gets more difficult each day. The pills are working wonderfully though. My blood pressure is at stage 1 hypertension. I'm not sure what that means but it's not a good place to be surely.

Hi piglet are u happy about going back to work? If u are it might help the blood pressure. You need to try to relax and try to let things roll off your shoulders. Easier said than done right? You have to put yourself first or u wont be able to help anyone else hugs jodi

Hi Jodi. I am looking forward to going back to work although a bit nervous as I've had alot of time off and just want to be able to do my work that I love so much. Your'e right it will help the blood pressure it's still up but if i rest it will be okay I hope. To keep one;s mind of themselves is a good thing so I'm sure it will be a definite positive. My work has reorganized my work to be more structured for me, I'll be doing less physical and more respite care. Thanks for always being there for me needed a friend today Hugs Piglit

I have plenty of sleep but still feel tired. This new melatonin tablets are good. I don't know yet how would it be when I'm off them but for now I'm happy I could train my body to learn when to sleep. Now I can really focus on the tiredness and see what cause it when I have been sleeping well.

Hi Iraku,
You are not alone. I have had insomnia for year's and it's not fun. It gets even worse when the depression gets worse and although I have been prescribed sleep medications none of them really work. Lately, I have been taking daily walks to try to tire myself out but I go to bed and wake up thinking of the events of this past year and no matter how tired I feel I still wake up during the night. I don't know what it's like to have uninterupted sleep.. I wish I could.
I am proud of you for posting your own discussion! It's a very good topic.
Hugs,
Rox -

Hi Roxie, it takes an extreme case of helplessness for me to really feel that I should get some attention. Regarding the pills…oh my …I am now start to get used to Tamaze and that's quite severe. This new local doctor wrote me Circadin which is melatonin formulate, I took it for the first time last night and it works well. I don't know how long it will last but I'm trying to help the med by stick with a healthy lifestyle … I believe there's a direct relation to my abused history I told the doctor that too. He also will get me some helps with snoring. I snore myself awake, last night even with the pill I woke up a few time in the morning from it.
Thanks so much for the reply, hugs.

Hi Jodi, the first night with medication was great as I really needed that. The second night was a little harder but still quite acceptable I don't need to try to sleep but I still dreaming that I tried to wake up but I can't. It might be the snoring tried to wake me up. :P

Hi iraku have u tried some form of exercise or meditation that helps sometimes. Keep the faith. Jodi
-
Iraku June 23 at 12:28 am0 Likes
Hi Jodi, I did some meditation…with the exercise right now my body isn't recovered from the fatigue well enough to do much so that's doesn't help. It works fine when the insomnia isn't get to its peak. Once that hits the scale nothing I could do to get to sleep. Thank you for your reply. :)

Hi Iraku,
Is there a possibility you could take your anti-depressant at a different time? Maybe talk to your doctor about this.
Its true, like PIglet said, try not to 'worry' about it … the more you do, the worse it will get. I've gone through this, too, and LIVED through it!! :) People go through this without taking anti depressants.
There are times when I just plain had to Let It All Go… I keep a radio at my bedside (usually listen to Coast to Coast…which here in Denver, goes on from 10PM to 3AM…that distracts my mind, because 'soft soothing music' just doesn't work!
I have had 'sleep problems' for years. I do ok with just 6 hrs of sleep a night… everyone is different. I use 1/2 tab of Unisom or Benedryl every nite…and usually go to bed at 11PM. But I am retired, so its all ok… I know if you have a daytime job its different. We are all different in our needs for sleep. You will be OK! :)
The more you move about, and get some exercise, the better you sleep. Anyway, that is my experience. -

Hi Bettyann, thank you for all the care and advice. It's good to be reminded of all simple things from time to time. :)
I am on the changing of medication process. I'm taking another step down before the new med replacing. The doctor I saw yesterday gave me Circadin and I'll see how it goes. I'm about to get out and take a long walk for today exercise. Being on anti-depressant helps, I actually see the different. It's the first time in my life to feel that when I have no depression …this is it. I want to be free from the anti-depressant in the future but for now I will need it …
Glad to see you again. :)

Sleeping pill isn't even working on me. I do have excessive sleep during the day. I have never before able to sleep more than 7 hours continuously but now sleep during the day is something so easily done. Sometime I went to bed by 9 pm and hope to have a good long sleep, I would be awake at mid night for no reason and this annoying pattern continues. The problem of the time I'm not sleeping too that I feel my brain is suspended, I can't think clear, while I was doing my engineering degree I can not calculate, I can not read, the brain isn't registered any information…my brain shut down but my body still going but not fully functioning. It's like a zombie just sit and stir at the screen or stir at the tv …I usually put on some dvd and let it runs and set the shut down time so I'd be unconscious at some point. I tried to not sleeping until the time that I want to be in bed. It still happens. I can not go to bed at the normal bed time and this is very frustrating.

Hi Iraku, Try going to bed later at night and have a warm drink. I have warm milk and honey, You can get sleepy teas as well . Also try not to worry when you can't sleep. I'm not a good sleeper I average about 3-4 hours a night. T he more you lay there thinking about not sleeping the worse it can become. I also find that reading a book can help as well, Hope this has helped a little Hugs Piglit I also find that lavender creams oils etc can help you to relax x0
