I have been living with Myoclonus for about 14 years. It has gotten worse over the years and I have tried a vareity of medicines and nothing helps. Does anyone else have this problem and have you had any success with controlling the jerks.

I have had this for two years. The neurologist I was seeing put me on an epilepsy drug, which upset my stomach. I don't think it helped much. When I told him about the symptoms, he acted like he didn't believe me, so I don't see him anymore.
The only time I have a real problem with it is when I am horizontal. If I could sleep standing up I would be fine. Muscle relaxers seem to help, and Ambien is a miracle for me. Once I am asleep I either don't have them or don't feel them. I am worried about dependency, but I have to sleep sometime, and the jerking is what keeps me awake. Wonder if anyone has had good results from Mayo? -

Dear CTANDY1271 -
Mayo Clinic does have some information available online here: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/myoclonus/DS...If you are intersted in seeing a Mayo Clinic physician in AZ, FL, or MN, please click on the "Request an Appointment" button on the upper right hand corner of your screen. This will help start the process.

I see you are a Community Advocate what does that mean? I am on the fence about requesting an appointment. I tried once and could not afford it. Do you have Myoclonus?

I have RLS and myoclonus and the only thing that has helped me for years is the seizure drug clonazepam I have been at the same 2 mg dose without having to increase.
