My mother has a metastic brain tumor.

My mother has a metastic brain tumor. She had 5 rounds of radiation done in January and was doing ok up into March. She since has had several seizures that has left her right side immobile. We found out today, after some other complications, that there isnt anything else they can do. I dont fully understand this considering they gave her a 90% chance of getting rid of it. Im so confused. Has anyone else had this type and if so, how is it going for you?

Hi @dawn0202, This must be a scary and obviously very confusing time. I'm glad you found us here at Mayo Clinic Connect, where you can meet with other people going through similar situations.

A metastatic brain tumor is usually caused by cancer that begins in other parts of your body and spread to your brain. Is this the situation for you mom too? What is her primary type of cancer or did the cancer start in the brain?
